Sunday Club
Rochester Cathedral Sunday Club
Children of all ages are very welcome to join Rochester Cathedral's Sunday Club.
The club meets every Sunday morning, in term time, in the Ithamar Chapel, down in the Crypt at 10.30am. After some games, songs, refreshments and a time of sharing, children are split into two or three different age groups and go to different areas for the rest of the session. The sessions are run by a dedicated team of staff, all CRB checked, who teach faith and help the children experience God's love through a variety of activities, for example: through bible and other stories, discussion, drama, craft, cooking, games and prayer. The session ends with the children being brought up to Communion and then return to sit with their parents until the end of the service.
Although many members are unable to come to Sunday Club regularly – due to other commitments, often within the Cathedral – they are always welcome when they can come and at the many events on offer throughout the year, including:
- a summer picnic with games
- Easter egg hunt
- donkey procession
- sea-side outings
- children's services
- Christmas and bonfire parties
- craft mornings, pizza making
- ...to name but a few.
The three groups within Sunday Club are:
Little Seekers – age 0-6 years (year 1)
After an initial time of sharing, Little Seekers stay in the Ithamar Chapel for their session.Discoverers – age 6-10
This group usually moves to another part of the crypt for their session.Frogs – age 11 upwards
This lively active group of young people have their own programme of fun, food, friendship and fellowship.
Sunday Club Policy
Parents of Seekers and Discoverers are expected to stay on the Cathedral premises, while Frogs don't need a parent on site. In exceptional circumstances where parents have to leave the cathedral they MUST discuss and agree this beforehand with the Sunday Club leader on duty.

Once registered, your family will also receive regular news letters with information about forthcoming events.
