Pop into Rochester on the 27th July and you may find yourself unexpectedly face to face with a medieval monk. And no – it’s not the ghostly wooden statue in the Vines! Beginning at 11am, Totally Monked is a live interactive trail exploring the monastic and Norman heritage in Rochester. Five monks will be setting up camp for the day in various places around the town, and between them will showcase a wide range of lost skills and crafts – wine making, calligraphy and bee keeping among them!
So come along and join in the fun – for kids, and adults who are kids at heart! Tuesday 27th July 11:00 – 17:00 The adventure begins with Brother Andrew the bee-keeper at the war memorial… You can download the leaflet for the day here. You can also read about the Textus Roffensis exhibition which is happening at the same time, at the minisite here. |
